Features
Brand Voice
Set a custom brand voice to make translations match your brand's tone and style.
Brand Voice ensures your translations reflect your brand's personality. Configure a short voice guideline, and every translation is polished to match.
How It Works
- Set a brand voice description on your project (max 300 characters)
- Every translation pass through the engine is post-processed with your voice prompt
- The result sounds like your brand — not a generic AI translation
Examples
| Voice Description | Effect |
|---|---|
"Friendly and casual, like talking to a friend" | Translations use conversational tone |
"Professional and formal, B2B SaaS" | Translations use corporate language |
"Playful with emojis, Gen Z audience" | Translations are lighthearted |
"Technical and precise, developer docs" | Translations preserve technical accuracy |
Setting Brand Voice
Dashboard
- Open your project
- Go to Settings
- Find Brand Voice and enter your description
- Click Save
Brand Voice is only available on Starter, Growth, and Studio plans.
CLI
babelize projects brand-voice <project-id>
babelize projects brand-voice <project-id> --voice "Friendly and casual"How It Works in the Engine
Brand Voice is applied during the polish phase of translation. After the AI generates a raw translation, the engine sends a second pass with your brand voice prompt. This ensures the core accuracy of the translation is preserved while the tone is adjusted.
Best Practices
- Keep it short — 1-2 sentences work best (max 300 chars)
- Be specific — "Professional, like a bank's mobile app" is better than "Professional"
- Test different voices — run previews with different voice settings to find the right tone
